Custom Handmade Balloon Valance – Sewn from Your Fabrics

Do you already have the perfect fabric picked out and just need someone to bring it to life? We can professionally manufacture beautiful balloon valances from your own materials, turning your fabric into a soft, elegant, and custom-designed window treatment.

Simply ship your fabric to our workshop, and our experienced sewing team will handle the rest. All notions are included in the listing price—you provide the fabric, and we create the finished piece for you.

Design Overview

When a room needs a focal point, a balloon valance adds softness, movement, and a romantic architectural detail. This design is created using a series of inverted box pleats that rise into gentle, rounded billows along the lower edge.

Balloon valances can be made from a single fabric or enhanced with contrasting inserts placed within the folds of each pleat for added depth and visual interest.

The design includes a rod pocket for easy installation on a standard curtain rod (or tension rod for inside-mount applications).

For best results, we recommend light- to medium-weight fabrics with a soft drape. Valances may also be lined for a fuller, more structured appearance.

Each balloon section measures approximately 20 inches wide, though the final number and size will depend on your custom valance dimensions.

Our Linden Studio (formerly Linen Duet) sewing workshop is located in Maryland, USA. Our team of experienced seamstresses specializes in custom curtains, drapery, and structured window treatments for both residential and designer projects.

Fabric Requirements

• Customer provides fabric
• Additional 25% fee applies for velvet, velour, or very heavy fabrics
• Additional charges may apply for old or pre-used textiles

How It Works

Step 1 – Measure Your Valance

• Width: equal to curtain rod length
• Length: from top of rod to lowest point of balloon drape

Step 2 – Prepare Your Fabric

• Curtain rod length + 5 inches = fabric width
• Valance length + 20 inches = fabric length

If your fabric has a pattern repeat, additional yardage may be required. We recommend contacting us before purchasing fabric for precise calculations.

We strongly recommend pre-washing natural fabrics before sending them to account for potential shrinkage.

Step 3 – Place Your Order

Select your size option and add it to your cart. For custom measurements, please include detailed notes with your order.

Step 4 – Ship Your Fabric

Ship your fabric to our Maryland workshop using tracked shipping with signature confirmation. Full address will be provided after purchase.

Production Time

3–4 weeks. Rush production available upon request (additional fee applies).
